Our Approaches

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented approach designed to address various mental health challenges by modifying negative thought patterns and the behaviors that follow them.

Schema Therapy

Schema therapy is a transformative therapeutic approach focused on identifying and altering deep-seated patterns, or "schemas," that have developed from childhood experiences and influence current behavior.

DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured therapeutic approach that integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness and acceptance strategies to help individuals manage emotional dysregulation and improve interpersonal relationships.

Inclusive

Inclusivity in therapy fosters an environment where all individuals can engage openly, enhancing the therapeutic alliance. By acknowledging and valuing diverse identities, therapists create tailored interventions that resonate, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healing and personal growth.

Assessment & Letters of Support

We do assessments for immigration evaluations + we write letters for gender-affirmation surgeries for trans individuals.

Multicultual

Multicultural counseling theory emphasizes the importance of understanding clients' diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences, recognizing that these factors significantly influence their perspectives on mental health. This approach is essential for fostering effective therapeutic relationships and providing more tailored, relevant interventions that resonate with clients' unique identities.

People & issues I work with:

Latinx & POC

I value working with people of color and have lived experience with Latinx cultural issues. It helps to have a therapist who understands systemic racism and minority stress.

Autism Spectrum & ADHD

If you’re a little “neurospicy”, we’ll get along. I have a soft spot in my heart for working with the neurodivergent. We can grapple with all that entails for you and find some calm in the storm.

Teens & Young Adults

I work with teens and young adults on the issues they face, including individuation, family of origin strife, identity exploration, and learning how to manage life tasks and their related anxiety.

Immigration Evaluations

We do Extreme Hardship Waivers, Asylum Cases, VAWA cases and U Visa cases.

Trauma

Whether it’s big T or little t trauma, we can explore the cause and the solution together. I have a variety of coping skills to share as we unpack the issues surrounding your past and journey into a better future.

LGBTQ+

I delight in working with queer community members and love to explore these identities and their related challenges with clients.

We’re ethically bound to not work outside of our scope of practice, which means we’ve had training and supervision in this area.

I’m not the best therapist for those with disordered eating, substance abuse concerns, domestic violence cases, or mandated therapy.

If you are in a domestic violence situation, please reach out for help: Call the 24/7 National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 for information or for someone to talk to anytime.
